JACK SOGOYAN

Jack Sogoyan is a partner at Zwirn, Gevorkyan & Sogoyan LLP. He takes ultimate pride in providing individual and swift attention to his clients and is mindful of how a team approach is successful to the defense of claims. He has represented insurance entities, employers, third-party administrators and uninsured employers in all aspects of workers’ compensation litigation including defense litigation and discovery, 132a discrimination allegations, serious and willful misconduct claims, and lien resolution.
Additionally, Mr. Sogoyan is experienced in civil litigation, including all aspects of subrogation rights and interests, whereby he has successfully investigated, litigated, and mediated for employers and insurers by asserting liens against third-party lawsuits and/or filing complaints against third-parties. He has successfully recovered damages for employers and insurers.
Mr. Sogoyan works closely with clients to proactively, strategically and cost-effectively manage claims and litigation. Most notably, he strives to vigorously negotiate settlements in the early litigation stages, resulting in beneficial cost-saving settlements for his clients.

Jack Gevorkyan is a partner at Zwirn, Gevorkyan & Sogoyan LLP. Prior to forming Zwirn, Gevorkyan & Sogoyan LLP, Mr. Gevorkyan obtained valuable civil litigation experience at the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, completing an extended Externship at the Van Nuys branch while in law school.
Mr. Gevorkyan’s practice currently focuses on workers’ compensation defense including the following:

Representation of insurance carriers and employers before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board throughout the State of California. Mr. Gevorkyan has worked with the vast majority of third party administrators to obtain favorable results for their clients.

Representation of employers in matters involving discrimination under Labor Code Section 132(a) and Serious and Willful Misconduct (Labor Code Section 4553).

Adjudication of cases up to and including trials before the WCAB. Mr. Gevorkyan has obtained multiple take nothing Awards and countless nominal settlements leading up to Trial.

Involvement in all aspects of discovery, including but not limited to taking depositions of injured workers, drafting of medical-legal interrogatories to medical experts, and cross-examination of medical experts.

Workers' Compensation Defense
Our firm specializes in all aspects Workers' Compensation matters, including litigation, California Labor Code Section 132a, serious and willful misconduct, vocational rehabilitation issues and return to work issues, and lien resolution. Daniel Zwirn is a partner at Zwirn, Gevorkyan & Sogoyan LLP. He has more than 30 years experience in the area of Workers' Compensation law appearing before all of the boards in the State of California.
Mr. Zwirn is a Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law State Bar of California, with extensive experience in overlapping issues involved in civil litigation and subrogation. He advises all involved defense parties of Workers’ Compensation involvement in civil arena.
Mr. Zwirn has handled numerous cases involving sexual harassment defense, wrongful discharge defense and discrimination defense with parallel civil cases. He litigates coverage issues at Workers’ Compensation Board for carriers/administrators wrongly joined in the forum, as well as issues involving California Labor Code Section 132a and Serious and Willful Misconduct allegations, Vocational Rehabilitation Issues and return to work issues. He also litigates matters involving questionable ownership and operations practices of medical groups.
Expertise in Medicare Set Aside review. Has done over 100 cross-examinations of treating doctors, QME’s AME’s with effective results changing medical-legal opinions in a majority of cases.
In crossover employment cases conducts extensive and out of the box discovery resulting in substantial mitigation in both forums.
Has audited claim files and legal files at the request of employers who are concerned about loss ratios, ex-modification rates and claims lingering.
